Tree Vouchers Available at April 29 Program
City of Ames Smart Watersheds and Smart Energy programs have partnered with Ames Trees Forever to offer a spring tree-planting program for Ames residents on Saturday, April 29, at two different locations.
Registration begins at 9:30 a.m., and the program will start at 10 a.m. at Earl May Nursery and Garden Center, 1601 S. Kellogg Ave., and Country Landscapes, 56985 Lincoln Highway. The program will include information about the use of shade trees for energy reduction, the use of trees to help reduce erosion, and how to select and plant the best tree for a site. There will be time for individual questions after the program has ended.
Ames residents who register and attend the program will receive a green voucher for a $50 off the price of a shade tree along with a bag of mulch. The voucher will remain valid through the end of May at either nursery. The program is limited to one green voucher per address
Informational flyers are available at Ames Public Library, City Hall, and both nurseries. For more information, contact Dianne Brotherson of Ames Trees Forever at 515.292.8613.
