$25,000 in grant funding is available again in
2008/09 for Neighborhood Improvement Projects. Gather your neighbors and apply for a
grant by
July 31, 2008!
This program is intended to strengthen the appearance
of neighborhoods and promote a greater sense of community
among residents.
In order to qualify, projects must...
- Include permanent physical improvements to the neighborhood.
- Improve the appearance of the neighborhood.
- Involve all or most residents in the neighborhood with donations of time or money to "match" the City grant.
A maximum of $5000 is available per year per
application. Neighborhood contributions may include cash or in-kind
labor (or a combination of both), which will be matched dollar for
dollar by the City.

Get together with your neighbors
and dream up an improvement for your neighborhood. Ideas
might include safety enhancements (street lighting
improvements or security lighting in alleys); improvements
to public spaces, (installation
of a water fountain or purchase of playground equipment);
housing improvements (refurbishing of siding or gutters, or
demolition of unsightly structures); environmental upgrades
(establishment & maintenance of gardens, installation
of a bike path or transit shelter). Be creative!

Download the application or pick one up in the City Clerk's office in City Hall, 515 Clark Avenue (second floor, southeast corner of the building.)
- Submit the application
and required information by July 31, 2008.
