The City of Ames Municipal Code
The Legal Department is one of two departments directly responsible to the City Council. We work with all departments and agencies, including Mary Greeley Medical Center, the Public Library, Cy-Ride, and the utility enterprises. We also work with the various courts and judicial offices. This office represents the City in administrative proceedings conducted before local and state regulatory and administrative agencies such as the Zoning Board of Adjustment, Civil Service Commission, the Beer and Liquor Control Commission, and the Department of Natural Resources.
